470 Equipment Manufacturers

The International 470 Class is a strict one-design class. Its drawings and building specifications are owned by World Sailing, which means that the boat hull has to be built according to these documents and only by approved Licensed Builders.

The foils (centreboard and rudder), spars (mast, boom, spinnaker pole) and sails (main, jib, spinnaker) may be built by any manufacturer, but all must comply with the current 470 Class Rules and be measured and certified prior to use in a competition.

To build the boat, you must be approved as a Licensed Builder by World Sailing.
