Pre-Christmas 470 Training Camp in Athens
Greek 470 coach Makis Orologas organised a 470 Training Camp hosted from the Yacht Club of Greece, Mikrolimano, Athens from 21-23 December. 14 teams joined the sessions, with 8 men and 6 women teams enjoying three days of perfect conditions, with the breeze around 5-15 knots and 14 degrees temperature. On Sunday, 470 Chief Measurer, Dimitris Dimou joined the teams to discuss measurement issues and ensuring compliance with the class rules.
The teams were a mix of experienced and younger sailors, who along with the coaching sessions, also contested ten races, organized by Greek coaches Makis Orologas, Thanasis Pachoumas, Andreas Kosmatopoulos and Andreas Paleras. In a winner takes all series, it was victory to Vasilis Papoutsoglou,John Orfanos in the men and Dimitra Pagida/Alina Stragigiou in the women, who were presented with champagne, Gull dry bags by VMG and the entry fees of their division.
