Patience/Glanfield and Vadlau/Ogar Leading in Santander

Great Britain's Luke Patience/Joe Glanfield and Austria's Lara Vadlau/Jola Ogar lead the 470 Men and Women fleet after two races on day 1 at the Ciudad de Santander Trophy in Santander, Spain - the test event for the Santander 2014 ISAF Sailing World Championships that next year that will be held in the Cantabrian city. The Test Event - Ciudad de Santander Trophy is taking place from Monday 9 September until Sunday 15 September

In Men's 470, the British team Luke Patience and Joe Glanfield have the lead. In second place are Japan's Kazuto Doi and Kimihiko Imamura with Germany's Ferdinand Gerz and Patrick Follmann in third.

 

Austria's Lara Vadlau and Jolanta Ogar are well positioned in top spo followed by Americans Annie Haeger and Briana Provancha. The final podium spot at this early stage is taken by sisters Marjaliisa and Elise Umb from Estonia.

Racing for the Men's and Women's 470 will continue in the Alpha area, the Finn class will continue in the Charlie area together with the Nacra 17 whilst the Men's and Women's RS:X will race in Delta area (in front of the beaches of Somo and Laredo).Joining them will be the 49er and 49er FX fleets on racing area Bravo in Cabo Mayor.

The Race Committee representing the different race areas will run two races, except the 49er and 49erFX that will hold three races on Tuesday with a maximum of 16 races scheduled.
