DAY 1 OF THE ALLIANZ SAILING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2023

Keiju Okada/Miho Yoshioka (JPN) lead the 470 fleet at the Allianz Sailing World Championships in The Hague after two light to medium wind races on Friday, the first day of racing. Wenju Dong/Jingsa Wang (CHN) are second with Ming Xu/Yahan Tu (CHN) in third.

A very strong tide caught out more than a few at the top marks, made easier as the wind increased through the morning from 6-7 knots and building to 9-11 knots by the finish.

In the first fleet the race wins went to Silvia Mas/Nicolas Rodriguez (ESP), moving up from 10th at the first mark, while Charlotte Leigh/Ryan Orr (GBR) won the second.
Okada/Yoshioka won the first race in the second fleet with Xu/Tu winning the second, both teams leading the fleet round for comfortable wins.
