THIRD DAY OF REGATTAS DOMINATED BY FOREIGN TEAMS IN THE 470 EUROPEAN TROPHY & WORLD MASTER’S CUP 2023

Bracciano, 5 August - Great evolutions in the water for today’s three trials of the international regatta organized by Planet Sail in Bracciano. The first race of the day began at 12.20 with favorable weather conditions and a stiff wind that initially reached 17 knots. At the end of the first round, the continuous changes in wind direction forced the organization team to work hard in the water to almost completely reposition the regatta field. After a wait of almost thirty minutes, with a new layout, two more beautiful races were disputed with sustained winds around 13/14 knots.

The foreign teams dominated the third day of competition, above all in the first round which saw the Dutch of NED 55, Benny and Jan Kouwenhoven, win narrowly, while in the second and third rounds the first place went to Uti and Frank Thieme of GER 5082. Third in the standings before the discussion of the protests the Italian crew of the Juniores ITA 16 category made up of Adalberto Parra and Flavia Maltagliati.

1st - NED 55 Benny Kouwenhoven, Jan Kouwenhoven, Grand Master with 19 points

2nd - GER 5082 Uti Thieme, Frank Thieme, Masters with 23 points

3rd - ITA 16 Adalberto Parra, Flavia Maltagliati, Juniores with 52 points

For the final day of August 5, the weather forecasts indicate a marked improvement in the area of Lake Bracciano, a condition that would allow the last two tests to be carried out in the best possible way. The awards ceremony will be held in the afternoon around 17.00 at the Planet Sail Sailing Club, organizer of the event, and will see the authorities and representatives of the sports organizations present, who will award the crews of the categories in the race.
