THE HAGUE 2023 SAILING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS, NOTICE OF RACE AND ENTRY SYSTEM NOW OPEN
16 Dec 2022An updated Notice of Race for The Hague 2023 Sailing World Championships has been published on the official event notice board. Entries are now open, with the first deadline set for January 16 2023. The entry system is quota-based and thus completely different from the standard 470 Class Championships entry system. The details are described in the Racing section of the event website.
As the number of 470 entries is limited to a total of 70 boats and since the entries are to be made solely by the National Sailing Federation (MNA) of each country, National Class Associations are urged to contact as soon as possible their MNA, to discuss the plan for their athletes.
The Qualification document and the Additional Places instructions must be examined in detail, especially the Entry system on Chapter 2, and quick action is advised because of the close proximity of the first deadline for entry place requests (January 16 2023).
It is of the highest importance that the 470 quota of 70 boats will be met in full, with entries from as many MNAs as possible. The International 470 Class Association Management Committee is happy to assist sailors and National Associations in contacting their MNAs, to ensure that no quota place is lost.
