DAY 3 REPORT OF 2023 470 JUNIOR EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP

On the third day of the Junior European Championships in the 470 class, the French team of Matisse Pacaud and Lucie De Gennes strengthened their lead. In Gdynia on Friday, the current gold medalists of the Junior World and European Championships won two races, bringing their total number of victories to five. Additionally, they also secured second and third place finishes.

ALL EVENT INFORMATION

 

In favorable conditions, a total of 35 crews from 17 countries competed on Friday. It was warm and sunny, with a fairly stable northeasterly wind direction, ranging in speed from 10 to 17 knots. The leaders have been performing exceptionally well in all conditions, as Thursday featured strong and variable winds.

In the 470 class, the Turkish team of Efe Tulcali and Defne Danismend maintained their second position, while the Greek team of Lampis Evlampios Giannoulis and Eleni Giannouli completed the top three.

The regatta will conclude on Monday, with a total of 12 races scheduled, including the medal race involving the top 10 teams.
