AXEL FLEET/JAMIE RANDALL WIN 2024 AUSTRALIAN 470 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
22 Jan 2024Epic week of racing for the 2024 Australian 470 National Championship sailed at Largs Bay Sailing Club in South Australia.
It was an intense 4 days of racing across 11 days, with some big wind on day 1, 2 & 4, as well as a very light day on day 3.
The final day was a big day with three races in strong winds, which saw Axel Fleet/Jamie Randall (AUS 8) take the overall win and become Junior Champions as well. Ben Hinks/Fallon Katz (AUS 22) came in a strong second and became the Mixed Champions, and Sophie Jackson/James Jackson (AUS 2) rounded out the podium.
Alice Buchanan/Angus Higgins (AUS 12) were third mixed team and the winners of race 7, and Ellen Sampson/Grace Morrow (AUS 9) became the Women's champions. Great to have 9 boats getting some tight racing at the Nationals, with a few boats missing.
