ISAF Sailing World Rankings Released

Including the results from the 2012 Olympic Sailing Competition, the latest ISAF Sailing World Rankings were released on 15 August 2012. Continuing to reign supreme are Mat Belcher/Malcolm Page (AUS) who have led the rankings for the past two years, since August 2010. The pair have enjoyed the most phenomenal year, culminating with the gold medal at the 2012 Olympic Sailing Competition. Add to this their successful defence of the 2012 470 World Championship title, to give them three consecutive World Championship titles in 2012, 2011 and 2010, and wins at every event they have contested since January 2012.

Sime Fantela/Igor Marenic (CRO) move up to #2, with Sven Coster/Kalle Coster (NED) up to #3.

Three new 420 Women teams move up to the world’s top three. Lisa Westerhof/Lobke Berkhout (NED) have leapfrogged to become the world #1 team on the ISAF Sailing World Rankings, from #4 before the Olympics. The Olympic bronze medal and their bronze medal at the 2012 470 World Championships have propelled them upwards.
