OTHER CONTINENTAL & REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Apart from the World and European Championships, the 470 Class is running other Continental and Regional Championships as well.

The North and South American Championships are organized almost every year, while the African, Asian and Oceania Championships have been organized in recent times mostly in combination with a Continental Olympic Qualifier event.

In the last few years, the 470 Class has been promoting the concept of Regional Championships such as the East Europe Championship. The purpose of this kind of events is to provide sailors that are not campaigning for Olympics or sail in a more casual style and don't go to the Worlds or Europeans with a class regatta other than their own national events.
