March 9, 2026 – Vilamoura, Portugal – The first day of the European Championships delivered great racing in the 470 fleet. Three races in varying sailing conditions set up a tight battle at the top of the leaderboard. Italy’s Giacomo Ferrari and Alessandra Dubbini are leading the Europeans after an outstanding day.
For many, sailing in different weather conditions hardly sounds glamorous, but for 470 female sailors, sailing is the path they chose to follow.
Today, the 8th Portugal Grand Prix Round 2 concluded in Vilamoura. The final races were sailed in a northerly breeze that stabilized throughout the afternoon, allowing most of the scheduled program to be completed and confirming the overall winners across all Olympic classes, including the 470 class.

An all-foreign podium in the 470 class, with victory going to the Croatian sailors Ema Samaržija and Leon Scheidl of YC Adriaco.
