YAI SAILING CHAMPIONSHIP 2023
16 Mar 2023YAI Sailing Championship 2023, a National Ranking Event and Asian Games Selection Trial III, was conducted by the Yachting Association of India (YAI) from 08-13 Feb 23 at Chowpatty, Mumbai.
As part of the event, nine 470 class boats, with participants from Indian Navy (Indian Naval Watermanship Training Centre Mumbai), Indian Army (AYN), National Sailing School (NSS), Bhopal and Yachting Club of Hyderabad (YCH), took part in the 470 (mix) class races.
All the boats sailing in the event were weighed and measured by a team of measurers headed by an International Measurer. An International Jury as per Appendix N was constituted to ensure a fair event. A series of 12 races in the 470 (mix) class were conducted in winds ranging from 08 to 18 kn and swell from 1 to 6 feet.
The medals were awarded to the following teams:
1. Ms Uma Chauhan/ Mr CHS Reddy (NSS Bhopal/ AYN)- GOLD
2. Ms Kongara Preeti/ Mr Sudhanshu Shekhar (YCH/ INWTC(Mbi) - SILVER
3. Ms Sharadha Verma/ Mr Ravindra Sharma (INWTC (Mbi)- BRONZE
