PERFECT SAILING CONDITIONS LEAD THE FLEET TOMORROW TO MEDAL RACES IN SANREMO

Penultimate day of the 470 Junior World Championship organized by the Sanremo Yacht Club.

Three beautiful races sailed with ideal conditions between 9 and 15 knots, bring the total number of races to 10 and tomorrow the last day of the championship, the stage is set for the top 10 of each fleet to battle for the medals.

In the Open fleet there is an absolute domination of the Austrians Lehmann / Haberl with six first places and four seconds. Followed by the duo from the Yacht Club Imperia Bozzano / Casano who are ahead with only one point over the Americans Harvey / Reynoso.

The Italian leaders of the new 470 Mixed Olympic Class Gradoni/Dubbini have twenty points ahead of their rivals, the Israelis Sade/Lasry who will compete for medals with the English, the French and the Americans.

In Mixed U21 ranking the French Pacaud / De Gennes and Flandorffer / Willot secured gold and silver respectively whereas the Polish Paszek / Laskowska, the Greeks Pappa / Michalopoulos and the Austrians Donner / Slivon will battle for third place and bronze medal in the separate ranking which will be taken from the overall Mixed fleet results.

A challenging championship made possible by perfect weather conditions and by a well-established organization. A world championship that will surely be remembered for the beautiful regattas and the delightful ashore climate among the crews.
