NO WIND ON RACE DAY 3 - 2022 420 & 470 JUNIOR EUROPEANS
The third day of racing was very similar to yesterday here in Vilamoura, Portugal, where the 2022 420 & 470 Junior European Championships are taking place. Unfortunately, the only difference was that there were ultimately no races.
The action was scheduled to start at 14:00 for the 420s, but it was not until 16:05 that the 310 sailors were asked to launch their boats and head the course. The 470s were sent to the water at 16:30.
But the light 5-6 knots of wind quickly dropped to zero and all the fleets were sent back to the marina without any sailing.
The day ended in great shape anyway, with a nice Portuguese barbecue waiting for them at the boat park.
With no new races, the results remained the same as yesterday, with 3 races done per fleet. You can check our Race day 2 report here.
The competition will continue tomorrow and the intention of the Race Committee is to carry out 3 new races per fleet, with the first warning signal at 14:00 for the 420s and 14:30 for the 470s.
The event will run until July 26th, when we'll meet the new 2022 420 & 470 Junior European champions.
