GERMANS TOOK THE LEAD ON THE SECOND DAY
03 Aug 2022Summary of the second day of racing.
The competitors woke up to a quite usual summer morning wind coming from the East. The race committee decided to head to race course no. 2 in front of Balatonföldvár, because this kind of wind is usually more stable there. Turned out it was a good decision as they managed to start three races with just a slight change of course. In the first half of the fourth race there was free pumping (10-12 knots), and it did not drop below 7 knots until the last race.
All the races were won by Thieme-Thieme, who have taken took the lead. One point behind them is Sallai-Perjés and Litkey-Batiz stand in third position with two thirds and one second place from today. The Gond-Bors team is waiting for more races tomorrow as they look at the podium places from fourth position. Boime-Espinasse who sail in the grand master category are currently fifth and Takács-Takács in sixth position.
