Twenty of Germany's top young 470 talent descended on Kieler Yacht Club for the annual event, held from 14-16 May 2016, to race breezy and challenging conditions.

A battle of strategy and tactics unfolded in the 6 race series at the Young Europeans Sailing, as the two leading teams traded places in their fight for supremacy.

Max Schuberth/Silas Oettinghaus took the early advantage, winning race won, before the experienced women's team of Frederike Loewe/Anna Markfort accelarated their performance to seize the race two win. From that point it was clear the battle for first and second would be fought between these two teams, leaving the rest of the pack to take their opportunity to step into third overall.

Schuberth/Oettinghaus found continuity of form for the final three races, claiming back to back wins, to take victory over Loewe/Markfort by 3 points. Third to Mike Przybyl/Basti Kirschbaum.

Great opportunity for some training ahead of the 2016 470 Junior Worlds which arrive in Kiel, Germany from 20-26 June 2016.
