The 2016 New Zealand 470 Nationals featured twelve teams from New Zealand, Korea and Italy for the 10 race series.

ALL EVENT INFORMATION

The Championship was hosted at Manly Sailing Club, located just north of Auckland, from 22-24 January 2016. The battle unfolded at the front of the fleet between New Zealand's Olympians, Paul Snow-Hansen/Dan Willcox and Jo Aleh/Polly Powrie, with all the race wins claimed between these two these teams, eight to Snow-Hansen/Willcox, and the remaining two wins going to the 2012 Olympic Gold Medallists Aleh/Powrie.

Third overall were the young team of Sam Barnett/Zak Merton, who stepped up to the 470 from the 420 class.
