The 2017 Masters Cup takes place from 20-25 August in Alexandroupolis, Greece, hosted at the Fans of the Sea Club of Alexandroupolis (OFTHA).

Open to all 470 Men and 470 Women teams aged 23 and under, the 470 Junior Worlds is the stamping ground of the sport’s future stars. Entry is open to teams from all 470 National Class Associations and Individual Members of the International 470 Class.

The Masters Cup kicks off with measurement on Sunday 20 August, with the first day of racing underway on Monday 21 August. Fice days of competition will decide the top ten teams in each of the four divisions of Apprentice Masters, Masters, Grand-Masters and Great Grand Masters.

Online entry is open and you can take advantage of the earlybird entry fee of EUR250 by completing your entry and payment before 20 July 2017. Entries and entry payments received after that date will pay the normal entry fee of EUR300. Registration for coaches/support boats is also available at 2017masters.470.org

The Masters is a very strong and competitive fleet who race in the following categories:

  • Apprentice Masters: one of the crew members of the boat has attained his or her 30th birthday and the addition of the ages of the two members is more than sixty years before the end of the year in which the Cup is sailed.
  • Masters: one of the crew members of the boat has attained his or her 35th birthday and the addition of the ages of the two members is more than seventy years before the end of the year in which the Cup is sailed.
  • Grandmasters: one of the crew members of the boat has attained his or her 50th birthday and the addition of the ages of the two members is more than one hundred years before the end of the year in which the Cup is sailed.
  • Grand-Grandmasters: one of the crew members of the boat has attained his or her 60th birthday and the addition of the ages of the two members is more than one hundred and twenty years before the end of the year in which the Cup is sailed.

*the considered age is the age reached in the current year, regardless if before or after the race

Prior to the 2017 470 Masters’ Cup, the "Hellenic Masters Cup" will take place at the same venue from 16-19 August 2017.
