MORNING UPDATE FROM THE 2015 470 EUROPEANS
27 Jun 2015Day 1 of Registration and Equipment Inspection kicks off on Saturday 27 June 2015 at the 470 Open European Championships in Aarhus, Denmark.
Subject to final registration, there are currently 61 teams from 27 nations in the 470 Men and 48 teams from 23 nations in the 470 Women.
Measurement
Measurement gets underway at 0900 hours with a 10 minute measurement slot for each boat. Led by Chief Measurer - Jurgen Cluytmans (BEL) and Deputy Measurer – Heinz Staudt (GER), the measurement team completed training on Friday night, running through practice measurement with the 470s of Stuart McNay/Dave Hughes and Corentin Demanet/Quinten Lauwers (BEL).
Up first for measurement this morning are Stefan Scharnagl/Helmut Schulz (AUT-477), with all boats being inspected according to the 470 Class Event Measurement Regulations & Policies.
Registration
Registration opens at 1000 hours this morning in the Race Office. Please remember both helm and crew need to sign the Entry Declaration Form.
Opening Ceremony
The Opening Ceremony takes place on the waterfront at the venue from 1900 hours this evening, followed by refreshments and snacks in the Sailors’ Lounge.
