Hong Kong Holds 470 Selection Trials

With the 16th Asian Games taking place later this year from 12-27 November 2010 in Shanwei, China, many Asian countries will be running trials to select their representatives.

Over in Hong Kong, the responsibility to select the sailors for the two-person dinghy men and two-person dinghy women's events falls to the Hong Kong International 470 Class Association.

Sailors are now invited to the Trials which will take place over 22-23 May 2010 at the Sail Training Association’s Dinghy Centre at Little Palm Beach, Clearwater Bay, Sai Kung, Hong Kong. The results of these trials will be used as one of the indicators to selecting the sailors for the Asian 16th Games.

Back at the end of March 2010, the 14th Asian Sailing Championships was used as a Test Event for the Asian Games, where Japan and China dominated the men's and women's 470 events respectively.

Hosted by the Guangdong Ocean Sports Training Centre (GOSTC) in Shanwei, China, the 16th Asian Games is ranked as an ISAF Grade 3 event and includes sailing events for:
