EIGHTH CHAMPIONSHIP WIN IN A ROW FOR RUSSIA'S SOZYKIN/GRIBANOV

A stunning run of form for Russia's Pavel Sozykin/Denis Gribanov awarded them their eighth win in a row at the Russian 470 Championship.

Hosted in Sochi on the Black Sea, the Championship took place from 7-14 October with 22 teams, 13 men and 9 women, racing in medium breeze across the nine race series.

Sozykin/Gribanov, who represented Russia at the 2016 Olympic Games, were unstoppable winning every race, including the medal race to finish a massive 17 points ahead of second placed Vladimir Chaus/Denis Goretyy. Third to Kristian Chech/Maksim Cherenkov.

Fellow Olympians Alisa Kirilyuk/Liudmila Dmitrieva won the women's title with second to Alexandra Chicherova /Luidmila Timoshina
and third to Natalia Ivanova/ Anzhelika Chernyakhovskaya.

Results at this event have decided the Russian National Team campaigning for Tokyo 2020.
