DOWN TO THE 470 MEDAL RACE AT SOUTH EAST ASIAN GAMES11 Jun 2015
Nine races completed and just one to go, the double-points Medal Race, to decide the podium line-up at the 28th South East Asian Games. Hosted at Singapore's National Sailing Centre, this is the region's premier multi-sports event.
In the 470 Men, all eyes are on the home nation's Darren Choy/Jeremiah Yeo, an impressive partnership who have sealed 5 wins from 9 races so far. They sit on a 3 point margin over the Philippines' Lester Tayong/Emerson Villena, with Thailand's Thnaph Kamonvat/Navee Thamsoontorn 6 points behind.
Choy/Yeo have guaranteed themselves gold or silver tomorrow, and there is still a chance for Malaysia's 4th placed Ku Ana Ku Xamil/Muhammed Ruslan to seal a place on the podium. A big ask though, which would need the pair to win the Medal race and Thailand to finish in 4th.
A different scenario for Malaysia in the 470 women, where Nuraisyah Jamil/No Mohamad Sayed have guaranteed themselves the gold or silver medal.
The Medal Race will take place on Saturday 13 June.
