CANCELLATION OF 2020 420/470 JUNIOR EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS
08 Apr 2020Further to the announcement made on 27 March 2020, after careful consideration we regret to inform you that the International 470 Class Association, in conjunction with the International 420 Class Association and Circolo Nautico Caposele, have taken the decision to cancel the Junior European Championships to be held in Formia, Italy from 25 July to 1 August 2020.
Our primary concern is always the safety and wellbeing of our membership and volunteers and based on feedback from the organizers we concluded that cancelling the championships is the only viable course of action at this time. Both Classes continue to monitor the situation and will make every effort to reschedule this event towards the end of 2020. We will consider all options, including combining the Junior European Championships with another suitable existing sailing event. Additional communication regarding this event will be sent as soon as practicable.
The next update regarding the 2020 Junior World Championship will be posted by mid-April as previously stated.
