Belcher & Page Announce London Challenge Dream Raffle

The Belcher+Page London Challenge 2012, Audi, Hamilton Island and Sunsail have today announced the Belcher+Page Dream Raffle in support of Mat Belcher and Malcolm Page's quest to achieve the dream of an Olympic gold medal in the 470 Men's sailing event in 2012.

The Dream Raffle grand prizes include: a choice of an Audi for a fortnight; 5 nights at qualia, Hamilton Island's luxury resort and a Sunsail 7-night bareboat charter in the South Pacific.

Skipper Mat Belcher knew that he wanted to pursue the Olympic dream when he was 17 years old. As one of Australia's promising young athletes, he was selected to carry the Olympic flag during the closing ceremony of Sydney 2000. "I was surrounded by athletes and Olympic heroes. The moment we reached the center field, I realized that the whole world was watching us. Since then I have been preparing for the Olympics. I am so excited that the Australian Sailing Team, Audi, Hamilton Island and Sunsail are helping Malcolm and I to achieve our dream and offering grand prizes that everybody fantasizes about."

Cheryl Powell, Sunsail's COO, says "Sunsail is proud to sponsor Mat Belcher and Malcolm Page, not just because they are two of the most professional and dedicated athletes in the Australian sailing community, but also because they are great ambassadors for both the competitive and leisure aspects of our sport. As part of the Belcher & Page 2012 Dream Raffle, Sunsail has offered a 7-night cruise in either the Whitsundays or Tahiti, not only to raise funds for Australia's Golden Boys' Olympic campaign, but also in the hope of introducing new participants into the sailing 'lifestyle'."

Glenn Bourke, Hamilton Island's CEO knows what it is like to achieve the dream of being an Olympian. The two-time Olympian said, "We are delighted to contribute a prize in the Dream Raffle for a stay at our world-class qualia resort to support Mat Belcher and Malcolm Page in their quest to win gold at the 2012 Olympics."

"The Oatley family and Hamilton Island Enterprises are proud sponsors of the Australian Sailing Team - sailing is in our veins with our annual Audi Hamilton Island Race Week in its 27th year and through our maxi Wild Oats, the four-time winner of the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race."

Malcolm Page, aspiring to be the first Australian sailor to win back-to-back Olympic gold medals has been pursuing his Olympic dream for 14 years. "Every time I compete in a medal race, I realize that everyone is skillful and winning involves a little bit of luck. Everybody can share our dream, but winning the Dream Raffle will take a little bit of luck."

Belcher and Page have had the great fortune to drive Audi vehicles throughout the world and are thrilled that Audi Australia is offering a fortnight's use of an Audi vehicle of the winner's choice. "We feel very privileged to have the support of Audi. I will be envious of all of the Dream Raffle winners," said Page.
