AUSSIES AND FRENCH WRAP UP VICTORY AT 470 SOUTH AMERICANS
15 Feb 2016Serving as a warm-up to the 470 Worlds, the 470 South Americans attracted many of the faces who will battle again when racing at the Worlds kicks off on 22 February.
Aside from a UFD penalty score, a super consistent series from France’s Camille Lecointre/Helene Defrance put them safely at the head of the women’s leaderboard, having notched up a significant points lead. Second to Annie Haegar/Briana Provancha (USA) and third to Ai Kondo/Miho Yoshioka (JPN)
In the 470 Men, a convincing win to Mathew Belcher/Will Ryan, pushed by Sofian Bouvet/Jeremie Mion (FRA) and Argentina’s own pair of Lucas Calabrese/Juan de la Fuente.

Looking ahead to the 470 Worlds, two days of registration and equipment inspection gets underway on Saturday 20 February, before racing starts on 22 February. For many teams the World Championship is a critical event on their Rio 2016 national selection criteria.
