470 CAMPEONATO ESTADUAL IN PORTO ALEGRE
26 Nov 2017The pair Geison Mendes/Gustavo Thiesen from Veleiros do Sul, was the winner of the State Championship of class 470 that ended this Sunday in Porto Alegre, Brazil.
In second place were Fernanda Oliveira and Ana Barbachan, from the Clube dos Jangadeiros. Third in the overall standings and junior champions were Ignácio Varisco and Federico Garcia of VDS. Geison and Gustavo won the title unbeaten and recently were also Argentinean champions of the class.
Six races were held in three days (Nov 24th - Nov 26th). The last day the wind was southbound at an average speed of 12 knots but varied in intensity due to drizzle clouds at Guaíba.
The regional 470 class sailors will have their next commitment in 2017 Copa Brazil de Vela from December 9 to 16 in Ilhabela.
