2016 OLYMPIC GAMES - 470 CLASS PERMITTED HULLS
06 Feb 2016Please take note of the following notice issued by the Chairman of the 470 Class Technical Committee, Dimitris Dimou, regarding the 470 hulls which are permitted to be used for the Rio 2016 Olympic Sailing Competition.
According to item 2, Appendix 4 of the Rio 2016 Olympic Sailing Competition Notice of Race which was published by World Sailing on 1 February 2016 you may only use hulls certified after 1 January 2013. The actual hull measurement date is written on each hull's measurement form.
Permitted hulls are thus only those made in the following moulds per builder:
- Ziegelmayer mould 4 - but only hulls measured for the first time after 1 January 2013
- Mackay moulds 6 & 7
- Yamaha moulds 6 & 7
- Faccenda mould 2
- Sports Sail Center (Blue Blue) moulds 2 & 3
- Nautivela mould 3
- Rondar mould 1
Except from Ziegelmayer mould 4, all other builders' moulds have been approved after January 2013, so all hulls built may be used at the Olympic Games.
The mould number may be found on the builder's plate and in the measurement form.
