2011 Worlds Qualification System
The International Sailing Federation (ISAF) today published the qualification system for the Perth 2011 ISAF Sailing World Championships, the principal qualification event for the 2012 Olympics.
The Perth 2011 ISAF Sailing World Championships take place in Perth, Western Australia from 3-18 December 2011. Competition will take place in the 10 sailing events selected for the 2012 Olympic Sailing Competition. As well as hosting the battle for World Championship glory, Perth 2011 will be the principal qualification regatta for the sailing events of the London 2012 Olympic Games. These twin attractions are expected to bring approximately 1,300 sailors representing 70+ nations to Fremantle Harbour in December 2011, making the Perth 2011 ISAF Sailing World Championships the largest single-event ever held for the Olympic sailing events.
Qualification is decided on a national basis. Every ISAF Member National Authority (MNA) is entitled to one priority place in each event.
