Enoshima, the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Sailing Competition, threw a new challenge at the 466 sailors from 44 nations racing at the 2018 World Cup Series Japan Round on Thursday as a light, testing breeze danced across Sagami Bay.
As the dust just about settles on the Hempel Sailing World Championships Aarhus 2018, many of the newly-crowned World Champions continue their form at the World Cup Series event in Enoshima, Japan.
From 9 to 16 September 2018, the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Sailing Competition venue in Enoshima, Japan, will host sailors for the first event of the 2019 World Cup Series.
The 1st and 2nd September saw the 2nd JDX 470 Nationals 2018, with boats travelling from as far afield as New Zealand. Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy saw the arrival of 14 Olympic Class 470s, with 7 being mixed pairings.
The final day of the 2018 Asian Games Sailing Competition dawned with a bright sunshine and the 12 Kts of wind in the Jakarta Bay greeted the 144 sailors who were hoping to close out this event on a positive not. For some the medals were almost guaranteed bar exceptional circumstances and some hung finely balanced and getting the final race today would be the last opportunity for certain sailors.
French team of Hippolyte MACHETTI/Sidoine DANTÈS successfully defended their Junior World title throughout the week and Italians Benedetta DI SALLE/Alessandra DUBBINI claimed their second 470 Junior World Championship after 2015 Junior Worlds victory in Thessaloniki, Greece.
Fifth day of racing in lake Bracciano for 470 class 2018 Junior World Championship and it was a great one full of action on the water.
The Sailing competition at the Asian Games 2018 started today at an intense pace in Ancol, Jakarta with all 144 competitors getting the full schedule of racing in gusty conditions that confronted the racers as they took to Jakarta Bay.
