420 Support Programme

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE 470 DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMES ARE IN THE PROCESS OF BEING REVIEWED. THIS PAGE WILL BE UPDATED SOON.

The 470 Class wants to attract the best sailors to sail the 470, and supporting the natural transition from the 420 to the 470 we offer free entry fees to the top three girls and boys teams at the  420 World Championships to either the 470 Junior World Championships or the 470 Junior European Championships taking place the following season/year.

If only one of the crew members competes, then the entry fee contribution will be 50%.

420 Medallists from the 2011 420 World Championships competing at the 2012 470 Junior European Championships are:

Women:
Nadine Böhm/Karoline Goltzer (GER) - helm won a silver medal at 2011 420 Ladies World Championships
Maelenn Lemaitre/Aloise Retornaz (FRA) - won a bronze medal at the 2011 420 Ladies World Championships

Men/Mixed:
Pablo Volker/Agustín Cunill Martinez (ARG) - won a gold medal at the 2011 420 World Championships
